The Slovenian Society of Nephrology is a voluntary, professional, non-profit association of doctors working in the fields of clinical nephrology, dialysis, renal transplantation and pediatric nephrology.  The Society represents the professional body for Slovenian nephrologists.

The Slovenian Society of Nephrology is part of the Slovenian Medical Association, one of the oldest medical associations in central Europe, established in 1861. The Society is involved in planning and overseeing the postgraduate education of clinicians interested in kidney disease and in the production of educational medical literature in the Slovenian language. It is involved in organizing educational events, congresses and courses, seeking to promote clinical excellence in our field of medicine. The Society is also actively involved in creating guidelines, consensus statements and other relevant contributions to the professional doctrine, particularly as it relates to the establishment and maintenance of a nationwide network dedicated to the care of patients with kidney diseases.  An important element of this goal is also a continuous collaboration with the United Kidney Patients Associations of Slovenia, tackling the day to day dilemmas and challenges facing patients with kidney diseases.
